St. Margaret Community

Welcome to the 2019-2020 school year!

We wish our Grade 8 Graduates all the best as they begin their Secondary School experience. We welcome our many new families and know they will be supported by our amazing community. Throughout September we will focus on relationship building and getting to know each other.

Thank you for patience as we worked through our first ‘sneak peek’. We will pass out the student agendas when they arrive.

We welcome Father Ross Campbell to our school community on September 10th during our opening school mass. We look forward to his presence in the school this year.

We said good bye and good luck to: Ms. Kasunic, Ms. Connolly, Mrs. Nicholson, Mrs. Mouta, Mrs. Milito (Maternity Leave), Mrs. Mendes, Mrs. Gracie, Mr. Glofcheski, Mr. VanTrigt.

We welcome NEW staff: Mrs. Kavanaugh (Gr. ¾), Mr. Ma (Gr. 4/5), Ms. Wegierak (Gr. 7), Mrs. Matic (Spec. Ed.), Mrs. Bolland (EA), Mrs. Bradley (EA), Ms. Beha (Planning Time), Mrs. Greenwood (CYW), Mrs. McCourt (ESL), Mrs. Grosz (Social Worker).  New Itinerant Staff will also be working with our students in Health and the Arts.

Remember our main communication from the office will come through Newswire. The calendar will be updated on an on-going basis to keep you posted on upcoming events.

Our Catholic School Council has worked tirelessly to organize our ‘MEET THE STAFF’ evening Wednesday September 11th from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Staff will be in classrooms from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. to say hi, and let the students share their new classroom. Please remember this is a social time to ‘meet and greet’. If you have questions or concerns about your children, please contact the school at a different time! Our first official Council meeting is Monday September 23rd. Stay tuned for the upcoming events and activities that are provided for the students and school!

This is year 2 of our Umbrella Project. Each month the theme will guide some school and class activities. An assembly at the end of the month will help us celebrate the goals of the month related to the skill.            September Umbrella Skill – BE A WELCOMING FRIEND

– No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted.

– A smile is the universal welcome.

– Choose to shine.

– Somewhere inside all of us is the power to change the world.

– If you must choose something, choose to be kind.

– Be kind whenever possible.

– Work hard, be kind, and amazing things will happen.

Please continue to pray for our families that need support!

I look forward to working together as a St. Margaret TEAM!

Mr. J. Schnarr
