Dear Scottie Families!
Earlier this school year, the Waterloo Catholic District School Board transitioned into our Pastoral Theme: “People of Faith” and a Pilgrimage Cross was created to honour this. This cross was blessed by Bishop Crosby and will be passed from school to school within the Waterloo Catholic District School Board. The cross will also be passed to all of the Parishes that are paired with each of our schools.
On Monday, January 29, St. Margaret will receive the cross. In order to celebrate the passing of the cross, our students will line up outside in the afternoon and receive the cross from the students of St. Teresa of Calcutta. We will then bring the cross into the front foyer of St. Margaret.
We will be having a Liturgy in the gym on Tuesday, January 30 at 9:30 to celebrate and learn more about the cross. Parents and visitors are welcome to attend!
During this coming week, the cross will remain in our front foyer and classes will come and visit it, and do many reflective activities. The cross will leave us on Friday, February 2 and make its way to St. Michael CES.
****PLEASE NOTE: THE SCHOOL PARKING LOT WILL BE CLOSED ON MONDAY, JANUARY 29 FROM ABOUT 1:30-2:00 SO THAT OUR STUDENTS CAN LINE UP SAFELY OUTSIDE. WE APOLOGIZE IN ADVANCE FOR ANY INCONVENIENCE THIS MAY CAUSE*****
