Lent is upon us and we are on a very special journey together. Through PRAYER, FASTING, and ALMSGIVING we strengthen our relationship with GOD!

We would like to thank Mrs. Perri and her volunteers for making Shrove / Pancake Tuesday a success.

Here are our reminders:

-Bus cancellations, delays and reminders are sent directly to parents! If you haven’t been receiving messages make sure to call 519-744-7575 (Student Transportation of Waterloo Region), to have this set up.

-FAITH:

*Friday January 31st at 7:00 p.m. our Grade 7 students received the Sacrament of Confirmation at St. Patrick Church. We proudly support them on their Faith Journey. Thanks to Mr. Rose, Ms. Wegierak, Mr. Resendes and Mme. Monteiro for their guidance.

-Inclement weather:

*Please dress your child to be outside as much as possible. (hats, mitts/gloves, snow pants, boots, extra socks etc.) Remember supervision begins at 8:35 a.m.  Students should not be on the yard prior to this time. The ‘Y’ also uses the yard in the morning for their programming!

*When the temperature is between -15 and -19 students may remain outside for no longer than 20 minutes

*When temperatures are colder than -19: students must remain inside. Temperatures and conditions vary across the Region

*www.weather.ca helps access local conditions.

-March Break is from March 16th to the 20th. Have a safe and happy break!

-Safety is always the most important. PLEASE remember we DO NOT have a student drop off area at the front of the school. The gates close at 8:35-8:50 a.m. / 3:20-3:35 p.m. EVERY DAY. Unless the vehicle is authorized (e.g., Taxi, bus etc.), or there is an EMERGENCY, NO Vehicle should be moving until the gates are opened. Drop off and 3-point turns in the entrance and exit are very dangerous. There are several parking spots along Saginaw Parkway to drop students off, as well as side streets. If you have questions or concerns, please call the office. WE NEED YOUR HELP TO KEEP OUR STUDENTS SAFE!! Please also respect our neighbours: DO NOT BLOCK DRIVEWAYS AND BE RESPECTFUL OF OTHER PEOPLE’S PROPERTY!!

-Thank you for supporting the Craft Show and Market. A very special thanks to Mrs. Lane and her volunteers!

-Umbrella skill from February was PURPOSE. March will focus on KINDNESS!

-We wish Mr. Resendes all the best as he begins his NEW role of Vice-Principal at St. Vincent DePaul! Welcome Ms. Stephens to our grade 8 class.

Mr. J. Schnarr

Your Principal
