Blue Jay Day on Wednesday April 10th

BLUE JAY DAY

St. Margaret is going to help kick off the Toronto Blue Jays 2024 season on Wednesday, April 10th, 2024The grade 7/8 classes will be hosting a BLUE JAY DAY and HOT DOG LUNCH!! 

Everyone is invited to wear Blue Jay apparel or blue and white on this day. For a small donation, students will also be allowed to wear baseball caps all day!!  There will be an opportunity to eat a classic ballpark lunch…HOT DOGS!  

The Grade 8 students will be leading the school in the Blue Jays song and doing the 7th inning stretch!  All students are welcome to bring their baseball gloves to play catch during recesses! 

This HOT DOG LUNCH on Wednesday April 10th will be a fundraiser to support the Grade 8 Graduates (graduation celebration, yearbook, etc.).  If any parents are able to volunteer their time to assist with cooking hot dogs, please email heather.cater@wcdsb.ca

Each hot dog costs $2.00, each bag of chips costs $1.00, and each juice box costs $1.00. There will be mustard, ketchup, and relish supplied on the day so students will be able to put on their favourite toppings.  Everything can be ordered through SchoolCashOnline.

Orders will be due on Friday April 5th, 2024

Public Health Immunization Suspension Day is March 27th

Dear Parents/Guardians,

 

We want to remind you of the upcoming student immunization date scheduled for Wednesday, March 27, 2024. On this day, any students whose immunization records are not up to date will face Immunization suspension.

 

We kindly ask families to ensure that their child’s immunization records are current with the Region of Waterloo Public Health.

 

In the event that your child’s records are not up to date, and they arrive at school on Wednesday, March 27th, please be aware that we will need to contact you to pick up your child promptly. Unfortunately, they will not be permitted to remain at school as per the guidelines set by the Waterloo Region of Public Health.

 

We appreciate your cooperation in this matter and thank you for your assistance.

Spirit Day Change – Decades Day in Wednesday March 27th

To respect Holy Week, our SPIRIT Day ‘Decades’ will be Wednesday March 27th. See below for more information.

Welcome Break from a much-needed break!

Just a few reminders for the next 2 weeks. An April Newsletter will be posted soon.

Thursday March 21st, 2024 is ‘World Down Syndrome Day’. We are asking students and staff to wear bright, colourful mismatched socks to celebrate how beautifully unique we all are!

Friday March 22nd, 2024 is ‘World Water Day’ to raise awareness and inspires action to tackle the water and sanitation crisis. Classroom activities may be happening.

 

Congratulations to Mrs. Denis / Mrs. Smit, Mrs. George, Mr. Soligo and Mr. Schuessler classes for being the top fundraisers in each division for our Nutrition for Learning Fundraiser!! All students in these classes will be receiving a Pizza lunch along with a movie / popcorn afternoon! These students will also be able to come to school in their pajamas! This will all be happening on Friday March 22nd, 2024. All students in these classes were sent home with a letter today for all parents to see. Please ensure you review the letter and send the attached Pizza slip back to school by Wednesday March 20th, 2024. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to your child’s classroom teacher!

Saturday March 23rd, 2024 from 8:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. is ‘Earth Hour’.

This is known for the ‘lights off’ moment around the globe switching lights off to show symbolic support for the planet and to raise awareness of the environmental issues affecting it.

Grade 2 Reconciliation at St. Patrick Church REMINDER

Just a reminder that First Reconciliation (Confession) will take place at St. Patrick church on Tuesday March 19th at 6:00 p.m.

Tomorrow (Wednesday February 28th, 2024) is also Pink Shirt Day! We encourage students to wear their pink shirts tomorrow in support of Bully Awareness! Student leadership will be coming around to classes to collect color house points for students wearing pink shirts

Friday March 1st, 2024 is Jersey / Touque day! We encourage students to wear their favourite jersey’s / Touques on Friday! Student leadership will be coming around to classes to collect color house points for students wearing a jersey / Touque
