June 7: Parking Lot Reminder

Hi Scottie Families!

Just a reminder that on June 7th, our school is a polling station for the Provincial Election. This means that our parking lot will be EXTREMELY BUSY at time of pick up. Parents are asked to walk where possible when picking up their child(ren) or park on a nearby street. Thanks for your help with this!

June Update

A Father’s Day Prayer

“Lord, we give thanks for Fathers, for their love and affection, for their support and guidance, for their humour and playfulness. Bless all fathers and help them to continue to model God’s unconditional love. Lord, bless all men who are father figures for children. Bless the important modeling they do for children. By caring and nurturing children, they give them a glimpse of the goodness and tenderness of God. We ask our prayer through Christ our Lord, Amen.”

Bake Sale Thank You: A huge thank you to our St. Margaret’s Community! Our Bake Sale was a huge success! Altogether, we raised over $2000.00! We could not have done this without all of your support and the support of our School Council. Thank you to our organizer and our volunteers who helped out on that day!

St. Margaret is a POLLING STATION:  On June 7th, our school is a polling station for the Provincial Election. This means that our parking lot will be EXTREMELY BUSY at time of pick up. Parents are asked to walk where possible when picking up their child(ren) or park on a nearby street. Thanks for your help with this!

Construction during the Summer:  PLEASE EXCUSE THE MESS! St. Margaret will be getting a little “make-over” this summer. We will be getting new lighting in the library, new fixtures in the washrooms, new asphalt in the parking lot, new heating and cooling units in the classrooms and all classrooms will be getting the carpets removed and replaced with tile. Because of this anticipated work, all classrooms and the main office NEED to be packed up before the last day of school.

Safety Drills: We have already had 4 great fire drills this year and during this month, we will continue to practice our fire safety drills. Thanks for your commitment to safety!

Volunteers Needed: We are looking for volunteers for BINGO. Our School Council works at Bingo and we receive anywhere from $500-$900 an assignment. These funds are used towards our school. We have paid for the buses to Church, Science Materials, sports jerseys and so much more with these funds. We are looking for volunteers to work at the Bingos (training is provided). If you are interested, please let the office know!

Report Cards: Report Cards will be distributed on Tuesday, June 26. Please complete, sign and return the Parent Response Form to the classroom teachers by Thursday, June 28.

EQAO Provincial Assessment: We congratulate all of our Grade 3 and Grade 6 students for their hard work during important EQAO Testing. Results will be released at the end of August/early September and individual student reports will be sent home in the Fall. Our students are proud of what they know and what they can do-Way to go Scotties!

Library Books Due Back:  The week of May 28-31 was the last week for students to borrow library books. All library books must be returned the week of June 4-8 on your child(ren)’s library day. Any outstanding books will be billed. Thanks for your help!

Are you Moving?????Plans for the 2018-2019 school year are already underway. If you are moving and your child will NOT be attending St. Margaret next year, please write a note informing us of the change.

A Blessing and Prayer to all Mothers

Loving God, we thank you for the love of the mothers you have given us, whose love is so precious that it can never be measured, whose patience seems to have no end. We ask this in the name of Jesus, our brother. Amen
