EARTH DAY celebrates 50 Years TODAY!

Happy Earth Day St. Margaret SCOTTIES!!

One of the Educators at rare, Matt, created this “virtual assembly” video. It covers some of the topics we would have talked about in our Earth Day presentations at schools this year.

We wanted to still create something accessible to students at home to help them celebrate Earth Day with rare.

Kindergarten Registration for September 2020 still open

Kindergarten Registration is STILL Open!!

Several years ago, we established a very easy-to-use online pre-registration portal to make the registration process as convenient as possible.

Parents of children scheduled to begin JK in September 2020, are encouraged to complete the pre-registration process as soon as possible.

There will still need to be some in-person contact with the school, but that will be handled at an appropriate time after the COVID-19 crisis has passed.

For non-Catholic families wishing to register in a WCDSB elementary school, your school Principal will reach out to you to complete the required interview process – again – at an appropriate time in in the most appropriate manner, including via phone.

Please CLICK HERE for all the information you need to start the registration process!

FAITH at home resources

As Passion Sunday approaches and the beginning of Holy Week, our parish churches are closed as well as our schools.

In these exceptional circumstances, we are given the opportunity to be nourished in the domestic church of our homes with our families.

Below is a link to a resource produced by Liturgical Press to help us to be able to celebrate at home.  This is not an “official Church document” and certainly not meant to replace the actual celebration of Holy Week at parishes.  But it is a resource that can be used and adapted to each of our particular circumstances to help us somehow mark the most important week of the Christian Year.

Our WCDSB Spiritual Animator, Fr. Joseph de Viveiros, C.R. has provided a link to opportunities for silent prayer: Monday to Saturday for one hour from 11:00 a.m. to noon there will be a live feed from St. Mary’s Church.  On Thursdays during the hour there will be Exposition and Benediction.  The same feed is also active for Mass on Sundays at 10:00 a.m., also from St. Mary’s Church in Kitchener.

Additionally, a message from Religious Leaders in Canada to all Canadians in response to the COVID-19 pandemic has been prepared for all of us.  It can be found below.

Finally, we will continue to provide spiritual care and support to all staff and students.  Watch for WCDSB Pray@Home coming soon on our board website.  It will provide resources, links, prayers and reflections as we continue to negotiate these challenging times together.

May we allow the grace of the Lenten season and Holy Week to bring us solace, strength and peace.

Teacher Led Learning and technology at home

Hi St. Margaret Families!

I hope everyone is making the best of their time out of the classroom with the help of school staff. Teachers and school staff are working together as we begin our new learning model next week. Over the next few days families requesting technology or students using SEA equipment will get a telephone call to arrange a time to pick them up at the school. Physical distancing as well as Public Health Guidelines will be followed.

If you requested technology when teachers contacted you, please go to Cash on line and complete the proper forms!

When all families have access to technology and the Internet Teachers will begin to post appropriate resources to guide students in their learning.

I will send another message when this process is completed.

If you have questions , concerns or need support in any way please continue to talk to your classroom teacher and we will  continue to work together.  I am always available as well if I can be of assistance!

All respect,

your Principal Mr. Jodie Schnarr
