Merry Christmas from St Margaret of Scotland

Merry Christmas to our St. Margaret Community!

I wish all our families a safe and happy holiday. Please take some time to celebrate Jesus’ Birthday.

I would like to thank our dedicated staff and volunteers for making this a ‘faith and fun-filled’ week of activities and celebrations.

Thank you again for your generosity sending food for the needy in the community.

See you on Monday January 7th, 2019!

St. Margaret Needs YOU – to help with our school bingos!!

Volunteers Needed!!!!
Do you like to people watch?
Do you enjoy a free breakfast?
Do you have 3 hours to spare?
Do you want to earn over $800 in funds for
the school?
Our school sends 2 volunteers, once a month, to Cambridge Bingo Centre.
The volunteers are responsible for tidying up used bingo cards, greeting
and calling out winning bingo serial numbers. The volunteer session is
usually a Saturday morning for 3 hrs. We are looking for parents or
grandparents to fill our volunteer sessions. To volunteer, you would need
to attend a one time training session.

If you have any questions please contact the school.

This is a very important volunteer opportunity as we earn at least $800/month as long as
we fulfill our once a month session. If we can’t send 2 volunteers for our
assigned session we miss out on these funds!

St Margaret Christmas Concert Thursday December 20th

Dear Families,

The St. Margaret Christmas concert will take place on Thursday December 20th at 1:00 pm in the school gymnasium.

This year the concert format has been changed.

In the morning, students will have a dress rehearsal and will perform for the staff and students ONLY.

In the afternoon (1:00 pm), the actual concert will take place for family and friends. All students will be located in their classrooms and each class will be called down to perform.

When your child is performing, you are more than welcome to come to the reserved bench at the front to record or take pictures of your child. When your child’s performance is done, you are to return back to your seat, to allow room for the next class’ family members.

Once a child’s performance is complete they will head back to their classroom, with their teacher. Students are not permitted to join their parents to watch the remainder of the show.

We will once again be collecting items for the Food Bank, we appreciate your generous spirit.

We look forward to seeing you at the concert!

Correction to Cash On Line message today!

All St Margaret Families, a memo was sent from  Cash Online earlier today reminding parents about an upcoming event travelling to see the KW Titans Basketball Team. The message was sent inadvertently to all families BUT it is only intended for grade 7 and 8 families. My apology for this confusion.

Thanks to the parents that called to share this with the office!

Mr. J. Schnarr

DFS Fundraising orders have arrived

Thanks again for your purchases from our DFS Fundraising. They just arrived to the school. Some of the orders will be coming home tonight. If they are larger orders parents are welcome to come to the school Monday to pick up!!

Our Advent Marion Celebration is Wednesday December 12th at St. Margaret. All are welcome.

Admission to our Christmas Concert on Thursday December 20th (PM) will be non-perishable food donations to the St. Vincent DePaul Society of St. Patrick Parish.

Gracious, loving and merciful God, on this Christmas Eve, as the light of your Word penetrates our hearts, as we are reminded of the gift of life and faith, as the glories of the heavenly hosts are echoed in our church, we open ourselves up to your Spirit and give you thanks.   We are grateful, Lord Jesus, that your story has become our story, and we celebrate your birth to take to heart the wonder of your love, that we may walk in your ways and delight in your will. Help us, Lord God, to be the faithful, gracious, loving, giving and forgiving people you would have us be.

A Christmas Blessing

May love come alive within your heart

As Christmas time draws near.

May hope fill each room you decorate

And bring joy to those you hold dear.

May peace be before you at every meal

And faith ring through every song.

For Christ is alive, the light of the world

May he bless you all season long.
