Fire Alarm

Dear Scottie Families

Our Fire Alarm went off this afternoon around 2:15 due to a faulty sensor. All students evacuated the building in a timely fashion and all were safe and accounted for. Technicians are en route to fix the faulty device. Thank you again for your understanding.

Week of March 26 Activities

There are a lot of important activities happening next week!

Bridges Campaign: Please help support our Bridges Campaign. In order to fulfill our Lenten promise to participate in almsgiving, the St. Margaret of Scotland CES community is hoping that you will be generous in sending in donations for men, women and families who access “The Bridges Shelter”. There is a great need for socks and toiletries. Donations will be accepted until Thursday, March 29. They will then be dropped off at The Bridges Shelter on the Easter Weekend. Thank you so much for your kindness and support!

Monday, March 26: Wear Purple for Epilepsy Awareness: Purple Day is an international grassroots effort dedicated to increasing awareness about epilepsy worldwide. On March 26th annually, people in countries around the world are invited to wear purple in support of epilepsy awareness. Show your support Scotties and wear purple on Monday!

Tuesday, March 27: Mental Health PresentationsOur Waterloo Catholic District School Board Mental Health Lead, Sharon Porty, will be speaking to Grades 6-8 about building positive mental health, understanding features of depression, anxiety and how to use positive coping strategies and where to go for help if needed.

Wednesday, March 28: Spirit Day: Dress like a “Super Hero” or “Disney Character” Day

Thursday, March 29: 12:45: Bread Liturgy: We will all come together as a school community and reflect on the true meaning of Holy Week and Easter. We will reflect on the Last Supper and break bread together, as a community. Parents are welcome to join.

Wear Purple on Monday March 26 For Epilepsy Awareness

What is Purple Day?

Purple Day is an international grassroots effort dedicated to increasing awareness about epilepsy worldwide. On March 26th annually, people in countries around the world are invited to wear purple and host events in support of epilepsy awareness. Last year, people in dozens of countries on all continents including Antarctica participated in Purple Day! This year Scotties will be participating in this awareness campaign. Show your support Scotties and wear purple on Monday!

A Lenten Prayer

Almighty and Everlasting God, You have given the human race Jesus Christ our Saviour as a model of humility. He Fulfilled Your Will by becoming Man and giving His life on the Cross. Help us to bear witness to You by following His example of suffering and make us worthy to share in His Resurrection. We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son. Amen.

Kindergarten Registrations: Please contact Mrs. Trouten at St. Margaret at (519) 622-6100 as soon as possible to being the process in registering your son/daughter. We are already beginning to plan our classes for next year and it is important to have up-to-date enrollment figures.

Lenten Promise: In order to fulfill our Lenten promise to participate in almsgiving, we will be accepting donations for the men, women and families who access “The Bridges Shelter” in Cambridge. There is a great need for toiletries such as: shampoo, soap, feminine products, unscented lotion, toothbrushes, deodorant, disposable razors, toothpaste, shaving cream and SOCKS of all shapes and sizes. Donations will be accepted throughout the Season of Lent. Thank you so much for your kindness and support!

March Break: March 12-16 is March Break. There will be no school for students during this time. Enjoy your time off Scotties!
