Donations for Bridges

Dear Scottie Families,

In order to fulfill our Lenten promise to participate in almsgiving, the St. Margaret School Community is hoping that you will be generous in sending in donations for the men, women and families who access “The Bridges Shelter” in Cambridge.

There is a great need for toiletries such as the following:  Shampoo, Toothbrushes, Toothpaste, Soap, Deodorant, Shaving Cream,, Feminine Products Disposable Razors, Unscented Lotion, Socks of all shapes & sizes, etc.

Donations will be gratefully accepted throughout the Season of Lent.  They will be dropped off at The Bridges on the Easter weekend.

Thank you so much for your kindness and support!

Pink Shirt Day: Wednesday, February 28

This Wednesday is Pink Shirt Day! The Pink Shirt Day movement started in Nova Scotia when two high school students organized a protest to wear pink to stand up for a Grade 9 student who was being bullied for wearing a pink shirt. We do not tolerate bullying at our school. Stand up to bullies! Wear pink on Wednesday to show your support Scotties!  Please see the attached flyer for more information. Pink Shirt Day

Tuesday: Pancake Tuesday and Valentine’s Day

Dear Scotties!

Just a reminder that this Tuesday, February 13, 2018 is Shrove Tuesday a.k.a. Pancake Tuesday.  All students will receive a pancake breakfast on Tuesday, February 13. Students are encouraged to bring their normal snacks and lunches on this day. St. Margaret is an Eco-School. Please bring a plate and utensils for this special treat! A special thank you also goes out to our School Council and our many parent volunteers for helping us with this event!

Also, we will be celebrating Valentine’s day on Tuesday, February 13 to respect the solemnity of Ash Wednesday. Individual teachers will communicate with students and families regarding how they may be celebrating that day.  Just a reminder if you are sending in treats with your child, they must be NUT FREE!
