POPCORN SALES TO SUPPORT GRADUATES

This year our Grade 8 graduating class would like to offer Kernels popcorn to the school community as a fun fundraiser to help offset costs of graduation. 

The popcorn will cost $2 each. Students can pre-order the bags beginning Friday May 26th on SchoolCashOnline.  SchoolCashOnline will be open Friday until the following Thursday for this fundraiser, and then popcorn will be delivered at the end of the week. Popcorn will be handed on on the following dates:

  • Thursday June 1st
  • Friday June 9th
  • Friday June 16th
  • Friday June 23rd 

Students will have their choice of the following flavours (depending on availability):

  • Butter & Salt
  • Caramel
  • White Cheddar
  • Salt & Vinegar
  • Cheesy Dill

Unfortunately, cash orders cannot be accepted, so please make sure you place your orders on SchoolCashOnline.  Sales will close Thursday June 22nd and the last popcorn will be handed out on Friday June 23rd, 2023.

Volunteers Needed Tuesday May 30th

We are proud to share that 70 students from grades 4 to 8 will participate in the Cross Country Meet on Tuesday May 30th at Shades Mill. They have been training very hard for this event.

We are need of volunteers for the day at Shades Mill to supervise the team members. The races begin at around 10 a.m. until approximately 2:00 p.m.

The Waterloo Police Service is hosting a kid’s bike safety/bike handling event for anyone who is interested this Saturday May 27th.

If you register ahead your child will receive a free helmet, bell, and light for their bikes.  Check out the attached flyer.

Pizza Lunch and Cross Country Tuesday May 30th

Over 70 students from grades 4-8 have been training for Cross Country.

The event is Tuesday May 30th at Shades Mill.

Unfortunately, it is pizza lunch and we will NOT be able to bring it or save it at the school.

Please consider cancelling it on SchoolCash Online (Lunchbox orders) by Sunday!

Hot Lunch for Track and Field Friday at St. Benedict SS

Grade 4 to 8 Parents and Guardians:

Any students ordering Hot Lunch Harvey’s this Friday May 19th will have it hand delivered by Mr. Schnarr at approximately 11:30 a.m. after it arrives to the school.

Virtual Book Fair Cancelled

Scottie Families, below is the message informing us of the cancelation:

We have some bad news, an unexpected issue has occurred on our Virtual Book Fair platform, which has led to a difficult decision as to how to proceed with online Book Fair purchases for the remainder of the school year. In light of the significant issue, we deeply regret that we have had to cancel your scheduled the Virtual Book Fair.

We apologize for this late adjustment to your Book Fair plans and appreciate your understanding. If your school is able and would like to change your booking to an in-person Book Fair, we will do everything possible to accommodate. We want to make sure that your school community still has the opportunity to share book joy with all your readers before the end of the school year!

St Margaret Track and Field May 19th

On Friday May 19th all of our grade 4 – 8 students will participate in our school Track and Field meet at St. Benedict School.

We will be sharing the day with St. Peter School.

Students have been training every day from 2:30 – 3:20 p.m. and in gym classes.

A letter will be going home today with each student.

The events begin at 9:15 a.m. Actual event times are difficult to predict due to sharing the facility.

High Jump will be done at school on a separate day.

WE NEED VOLUNTEERS:

-to time races

-to help at field events

-to supervise washroom visits into the building

-to supervise the students waiting for their events

Parents are welcome during the classroom ‘jump times’. Classroom teachers will post their scheduled time in their google classroom today. (*note that this is a change from an earlier message that welcomed parents at 12:45 p.m.)

If it is raining, we will postpone until Monday May 8th. A message will be posted on Newswire by 9 :00 a.m. if there is a change.
